images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request The hardest rallies to get yer arse into gear for are the closest ones. The Rampant is one of those, when you’ve got 250 miles to go you are organised, well at least as organised as I could be, if it’s a piss up in a brewery yer after, I’m not yer man ! images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request a pacing fault, it was only 7:30 images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request t’was during a hasty erection that I discovered that I was missing a pole from me tent, which after all had lain in the cupboard since last year. At least I could nip home and get another one, kind of, out of another tent that ‘might’ fit. I remember that term from an attempt at putting a 180 tyre on a CD185. images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request Hey… that Sure really does keep you dry Once a dishevelled mess of nylon made a passing resemblence to a tent I buggred off tae the bar. I didn’t get there, attracted by the bright shiny thing, i.e. a fire a certain Mark from the Forth Valley whizzed by me, in the process surreptitiously depostiting a bottle of Bud in my hand, This was to continue all weekend, he may have been trying to get me drunk, a nefarious plan or plain ol’ generosity… It got me away wi’ it so mission accomplished. Cheers mate images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request Davey’s I.D. started off the evening’s entertainment until someone appeared from the second band, “you’ll be here then ? “, er ,aye but we got to go get the singer, and er, the drummer’s lost. Eventually Bon’s Balls was assembled and played a right good set. Personally I’ve just about had enough of AC/DC cover bands… ye gods, sacrilige or sacre bleu you may say … Bon’s Balls were excellent, keeping my attention, well sounded great from outside where I was bletherin round the fire with the other lepers, ahem, I mean smokers. images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request One of Bob falconer’s latest images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request Another creation from Rab’s strange head .. images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request man…. they happy pills are great… images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request Identity obfuscated to protect the guilty images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request On saturday evening, for a wee change there was a Ska Band on the bill, ‘Pork Pie’ complete with lot’s of brass blunderbusses and a huge singer who was so red he looked like he’s got 24″ kecks on. Following this was Crawler, I’m sure I did hear them, through the blur that was my head by this point. It was about this time that a fevered discussion compelete with gesticulations that would have made Magnus Pike proud between Steph , Mark and me regarding how to make a proper chicken spit, it’s a tricky business extracting salivatory excretions from a chicken, never mind finding a ‘proper’ one. images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request Daz had the job of operating Jimmy for the evening The cooking of said chicken in a rotary fashion descended into typical surreality for the wee hours, discussion of diggin up Fred Dibnah to oversee the construction of a steam powered spit only came awry on the realisation that we would have to dig a 12 ft trench to tack the appropriately geared flywheel off Mr Dibnah’s steam roller . The conversation very nearly got silly ! images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request Once again, a great party, yeh it’s good to have a decent journey to a rally, but now and again close to home is a treat. Many travelled a long way though, to attend this party, some folk even made it this time without putting diesel in their wings 🙂 Well I had a good breakfast, in me own kitchen, some folk going north were fed on Sunday, Seth ‘n Emma managed to stay awake after a hearty bowl of barbiturate soup. Though the sight of Seth’s timmilin’ lip when Emma stole his bread and butter pudding wasn’t pretty 🙂 Thanks to Rab, Raymond and the crew for another successful Rampant. images copyright - Bikers1.com - available on request
