I’ve been building bikes different from the norm, since a pair of T-Bars on a Triton was cool. Everybody’s idea of how a custom bike should look is different, you get good bikes, very tasty bikes, and absolute shite bikes. But the owners are always proud of them because it is their own personalised bike. Me ?, I look for a Donor bike, which this time was a C.B.R 1000 why?, because it was cheap and had the right bits on it that were useable. H-beam on the floor.
Wheel front and back jammed in centre, engine between on seven inch block of wood and then you begin to make a frame, 65mmx25mm box section bent,cut and welded in the right place. At this point you should have a good man to weld, so enters Kevin Thompson because I cant weld worth a fuck, It Turns out like seagulls shit on the top of a dare I mention it? car. The Frame made and galvanized I bolted the engine into place, The Front end is made up from 900 Honda forks, and 1000 wheel, the back is a 1000 wheel, a zzr swing arm and spring, exhaust stainless four into one into three over top centre of engine under seat to keep my butt warm thanks to my friend Kev the welder.
The tank was a bit of a bastard to fit round the frame and be high enough to hold enough petrol to get anywhere. And where to put the radiator? (FUCK) All tin work was made and bent by myself from Industrial stainless steel, Draining board and sink, the mates have christened it ( the kitchen sink). The wiring was done by Gordie Mac and myself. The end result is definitely unique. Owner and Builder Chuck Rose. Morayshire.
